Liverpool jobs could be generated by new business funding

Jobs in the Liverpool area could be created by a new funding boost from the Stepclever initiative.

The organisation has so far created more than 600 jobs, through its support of start-ups and existing businesses in the north Liverpool and south Sefton areas that want to expand.

The £7 million funding, set to be endorsed by the city council on March 12th, will be used specifically for enterprise initiatives for young people aged from 13 to 25.

Councillor Gary Millar said: "Liverpool City Council, together with Sefton Council, Liverpool Vision and other local partners are delivering several great projects over the next two years, creating jobs and building the economy which will benefit the community and the region as a whole.

"This is certainly a step in the right direction and a very welcome boost for Sefton and North Liverpool."

More money is to be spent on 'start-to-finish' packages of information and advice that could help more people set up business on their own armed with knowledge on how to employ staff and attract investment.
